Originally, the Georgian apartments were a decent place to live. Post-Katrina things went downhill: the building became infested with roaches and the property received new uncaring management. Above everything, the roaches were the worst, they swarmed into the kitchen when I made coffee. There were holes in the kitchen wall hidden beneath the cabinets. The sink backed up when the dishwasher ran and when the neighbor ran their garbage disposal. It smelled like something died, but the managers didn't give a rip. The windows leaked like sives and let filth flow into the room and coat the blinds. The apartment was small and over-priced. While the building may look nice on the outside it is nasty on the inside and I shudder remembering my experiences living there and dealing with the managers.
