I have lived here for a just about a year now, and I am going to renew my lease for another year. This place is beautiful, pretty much all around (both indoors and outside). Everyone that comes to visit has compliments about my apartment. Overall, I love it here and will live here for another year. The apartmant is very expensive (no utilities are included either), but I like the location, community and office staff. Below you will find my pros and cons. This is to give you an idea of the small nuisances of living here. The cons are not anything horrible, but for the amount that you pay, I expect a higher standard than other lower costing apartments.

CONS

PARKING: There are not enough parking spaces for residents, never mind visitors. I guess it may depend on the apartment you are in, but I can never find a parking spot close by when I get home. I have a primary parking sticker which entitles you to a spot in front of the building, but it doesn t matter because no one enforces the parking here. The parking stickers are a joke. Also, there are far to many commercial vehicles parked on the property. Commercial vehicles should not be allowed in the resident parking areas. They should have their own area. There is one courteous resident who parks his truck in the office parking lot. The residents park their work trucks (tow trucks, electrical vans, etc.) in the parking lot. Other than it taking away from the look of the beautiful landscaping, the vehicles are larger and don t always fit in one spot.
HALLWAYS: The hallways are never cleaned. There are always random wrappers, cigarette buts, paper cups in the hallways. Granted the hallways are outside, but it would be nice if they power washed them occasionally. Once in a while, they will power wash ONLY the first floor. Guests always comment on how dirty the hallways are. The railings in the hallways are rusty and the paint is coming off of them (for over a year, when I moved in they told me that this was going to be done, still hasn t).
BALCONIES: They really need to power wash the vinyl siding on the porches. My porch has dirt on the walls that has probably been accumulating since the apartments were built.
WINDOWS: In a year, the outside of my windows have never been cleaned. People on the second and third floors can not clean the outside of the windows. The gorgeous view through the large windows is disturbed by the dirty windows. They do have fold in windows, but you can only clean the bottom pane. The top does not fold in for cleaning.

PROS

Office staff is friendly, helpful, courteous, and always pleasant.
Maintenance does a good job.
Landscaping is beautiful. Driving into the community, you feel like you are entering a classy country club. Only complaint, in the back of the apartments, the grass is not given the care of the front.
The pool and grounds are always clean and well maintained.
Fitness room is usually available.
Dumpster and recycle area are always clean.
Snow removal is excellent. They even use a bobcat to clear the snow as close as they can get to your car. I never had to shovel my car out.
Apartments are clean and new. They have many amenities, listed by others. For the amount of money that you spend in rent, I would expect more. No ceiling fans, wood floors, kitchen cabinets are nice, but no knobs on the doors and drawers. They recently put in water saving faucets in the entire community. Good idea, but they are very noisy. They will give you accent paint, but only on one wall...nice, but kind of tacky when the rest of the apartment is white. It stands out in an odd type of way.
Apartments are very quiet. I have never been disturbed by neighbors. I feel like I am in my own home in the woods.
