Although the apartment itself was pretty nice, the office and the other people living in the other apartments made my summer stay at Alpine Commons pretty hellish.
The office staff is the worst. The two girls that work there were extremely unpleasant and often told us things that they later told us were false. In addition, at the end of the summer, they mailed my (and my roommates') $350 deposit to someone else. It's been a few months and I still haven't seen the money.
There was an incident where a huge party erupted outside in the parking lots, prompting a few kids to carry a keg up a flight of stairs near our apartment. They lost their hold on it, sending it into the window of one of our rooms, shattering it. They were pretty nice about the incident, and went and told maintenance for us that they had broken our window. However, at the end of the lease, we ended up getting charged for the window. By this time, they kids responsible had moved out, so we were stuck with the bill. According to the office, they "couldn't prove" that we didn't break it. I'd like to be able to just pay for the window out of my deposit, but, well, I haven't gotten it back yet.
The apartments were nice but the office is not worth dealing with.
