I am a little surprised at all the scathing reviews on this page. I found Kamins to be very stringent, but helpful and responsive. They required first, last, security depoist, and a cosigner from in-state, which no other real estate office demanded and was very annoying to get as a student. When I forgot to pay a month's rent, I recieved a formal lawyers letter instead of reminder, however when I promptly paid they forgot about it. Any complaints I have they have resolved quickly. When I had ants they were there within a day. Same for a problem with a light fixture. The office is always friendly. They plowed quickly and generally, the maintnence on the building was decent (sometimes I feel they went too long power washing the walls or mowing). I agree with another post that expressed that it is annoying how they repeatedly show the apartment when your leaving, despite your preference. Other agents do not do this.
The apartment was laden with other students. For 10 months it was relativly quiet and friendly, then I recieved two new neighbors. One formed a band and the other had an enourmous stereo. The noise was virtually unbearable and I was thankful to be moving out.
