Renter beware, these people do not treat their tenants well. Didn't respond well with maintenance issues, then charged us an exorbitant amount of money for things that we had nothing to do with. I wish we'd done more research before leasing, as this was one really unfortunate year-long experience.

I agree with this review. While it was nice living in Amherst town center, the Lincoln Real Estate staff was neither particuarlly helpful nor pleasant to work with over the year. My two roomates and I, both students at UMass, were respectful tenants and kept the apartment clean and in good shape. After we left in May, they then detracked over half of our security depoist in order to do their own maintance upkeep work, including resanding and buffing floors that were not newly buffed when we moved in, painting walls that were not damaged by us, and myriad other charges that were not induced by our behavior. It is clear that Lincoln is aware that their tenants are college students and they take advantage of this, assuming we will not have the power or courage to challenge their claims. They are border-line criminal in their dealings. Do not rent with them. If you do, however, be sure to get a complete list of repairs they made before you entered the apartment, so that they cannot charge you for damages that you do not commit.
