My roommates and I lived in a 3-bedroom near the front of the complex, which is supposedly better maintained than the rear buildings (including Section 8).
Parking - There is enough parking generally speaking, however during high volume visitation days (ie: Superbowl, etc) we were unable to find parking spots near our building. Management can't seem to figure out how to properly enforce any parking policies including those for snow and parking permits. Speed bumps on the road are way too large and damage lower-riding cars at slow speeds.
Noise - Usually okay where we lived. However, when visiting the rear of the complex I noticed that the noise was much more of an issue.
Grounds - Nothing special. Some open grassy areas to play in. They primp up around open house time.
Safety - The parking lots are not well lit, and neither are the wooded areas behind apartments. No strong presence from security at all. Some registered sex offenders in the complex (which houses a preschool/daycare, as well as many MANY families with children of all ages).
Construction - Dishwasher, blinds, terrible - even after maintenance. The rest is cheap stock apartment setup.
Maintenance - Response was at least a few days (maybe due to management/staff''), regardless of the issue, which included a broken refrigerator at one point!! However, the maintenance staff was extremely friendly when they did arrive. Our hallway also flooded due to steam, molded, and so did the foyer of our apartment. Other surrounding student complexes send maintenance out the day of.
Staff/Management - AWFUL. We resided in Mill Valley through a change in management and staff, and both sets were terrible. We had constant battles with the office due to poor bookkeeping, received a rainforest's worth of useless/redundant flyers, and all complaints went unanswered. They are disorganized and inconsistent. They have trouble clearly making and enforcing any type of policy, from garbage to smoking in hallways to parking. The staff is sometimes friendly but most times rude, and they don't keep consistent office hours... on multiple occasions the office has been closed up to two hours too early.
Bugs - silverfish. a lot of them.
The apartments are quite spacious and the place is generally prettier than other complexes in the area, but if you're looking for management that is caring and responsive, look elsewhere. Also, the complex lacks upkeep, noise control, and safety more and more the further you go down the road - keep that in mind when looking at this place. lGjq8RUBjvsZjkb5ueji
