What you NEED to know about this place!!!!!!!

This place is so bad that it is difficult to know where to start. Shall we begin with the rotting wooden firetraps that pass for apartment blocks' The all pervading smell of leaking gas during the fall and winter should have been the giveaway that all was not well. The gas supplies the heating that you will need in great abundance given that there is no insulation whatsoever, our "master" bedroom would have served well as storage for a popsicle manufacturer and that was in the late fall; when winter arrived so would Eskimos. The lack of insulation also gives you the pleasure of listening to the neighbor?s kid's music choice and his father's colorful English vocabulary.
The "modern"(at the time Ronald Reagan was president) appliances have a tendency to explode but have no fear for there are fire extinguishers in the halls that is if one has their own hammer to break the glass for the ones that are meant to be attached were curiously missing at the time our antique microwave spontaneously combusted.
On the upside Andover has an excellent Fire Dept. that would have been here sooner if not for the horrendous plow job Brookside Estates does. See they find it necessary to only plow one lane (often some days after the storm) and the morons that live on this development have difficulty in finding the well marked out parking lots so instead park their cars in the middle of the drive.
This "family" oriented estate lacks any real play areas for the hundred or so kids that live here so they find the parking lots inviting as well as the drive. On numerous occasions kids on bikes, skateboards and just walking have run in front of our cars and have been within inches of meeting our hoods. They roan unsupervised around the lots and it will cost in excess of $1000 to repair the damage caused to our cars from people cycling or boarding into them. Of course when the parents bang their car doors on to them without thought, the kids aren't likely to know better.
During the winter months the halls and stairwells are the popular hangouts which in itself has many problems i.e. lack of insulation means every little sound, fire hazard and lack of parental supervision. Then again this is a "family" oriented place so I suppose as part of your responsibility you should take care of other people?s kids. So for $1800 a month you can have the big family you always wanted!
The entrance to the development doubles as a school bus stop, which of itself is not a problem. What is a problem is that the parents are too lazy to walk to meet their kids and drive the few feet from apartment to entrance, where there is no parking. So it is best to avoid trying to enter or leave the development at school bus time - don't even think of having a fire!
The management is ineffectual and seems to spend most of their time desperately trying to let the many empty apartments. They appear to be inexperienced and terrified by those residents who are determined to ignore what few regulations there are. The maintenance staff, (whom you will come to know well), are generally prompt and efficient. I?m not sure who empties the trash compactor, but that happens sometimes too. Which is a great disappointment to the local skunk population.
People who want to rate this place should wait before they speak unless its the staff trying to boost the overall ratings....
