Riverview Commons is a nice peaceful and secluded place. After living many years in the Allston/Brighton, moving to Riverview Commons was great! People seemed very nice and helpful. I felt there was no better place to live than Riverview Commons.
As the years went by, I got a leak in my ceiling (I live on the top florr, so this meant the roof was no good). I complained and they claimed they fixed it. The next year, the same thing again and again the following year. More recently, (JAN 2006)the same problem again. This time they came to repaint the spots on the ceiling, but they didn't fix the roof so after two months when it rained heavily for the first time, the ceiling starting cracking and dripping again. Currently, I have had to move my furniture and placed a bucket under the problem.
If that is not a good enough reason here is another one. I decided to move, and the new place needed to check my rental history... but after two weeks of calling, the management never called my new place's management back... so I went to the office and talked directly to the management guy, who only brushed me off and sounded very unwilling to help me out. So if you ever want to move out of here, be prepared for the stress of even getting this management for any reference or giving a prospective landlord your rental history.
Want another' There is plenty of parking however not secure at ALL. Over the years of living here I have gotten many notices on car break -ins from the management office and the Andover Police Dept.
On a more positive note, its very peaceful complex and the apt itself is very spacious.
