Rented at the Legacy because of its relatively recent construction. You pay a premium to live in a new, elevator-service building with garage parking, but it's still a bargain compared to what apartments cost in the cities of Boston or Cambridge just down the road.

The commute to Harvard Square for work is a piece of cake. The #77 bus stops right in front of the building every few minutes and is a 10-20 minute ride into Harvard Square. The #79 runs often too, stops in the same place, and takes you to Alewife. The adjacent Minuteman Trail makes biking into town easy too.

Apartments on the back of the building have a great view of the quiet, landscaped courtyard and the trees shading the Minuteman Trail. Spy Pond is a few minutes's walk away, and the amenities of "downtown" Arlington - drug store, grocery, movies, decent restaurants, church, etc. - are right at your doorstep. Be wary of apartments facing noisy Mass Ave (traffic, talking buses, beeping crosswalk signals, etc.). A number of children in the complex too - you'll hear them if they live nearby.

Dave and the maintenance staff were great. The few complaints I had were handled very quickly and professionally. The complex is in immaculate condition, owing to its recent construcion, and is likely to stay that way, due to excellent maintenance. Let us extend lease for an extra month with no extra charge.

Only complaint is lack of sound insulation between apartments. Neighbor's living room TV was on the other side of the wall from our bed, so we often had to ask him to turn it down.
