I have lived at Ashland for over 6 years. I found the staff to be easy to work with and very responsive to maintenance concerns. I have found my fellow residents to be relatively quiet. In short, this is a good place to to live, for a reasonably rent.

I have lived here for almost 4 years. This complex and apartments are not bad for the very low rent based on your income level. What I will say about the people that live here is a whole different story!
1. There are no pets allowed all though at LEAST half of the complex has cats.- let me tell you, 99% of those cats are outside cats that kill and eat small rodants, reptiles, and bugs and are seen EATING and walking around with them in their mouth.
2.At the very front of the complex there is a huge problem with teenagers that hang out in large groups of 15 or more and smoke blunts, yell argue and fight very loudly.
3. Most people in this complex gossip and will try to get other tenants involved. My suggestion- keep to yourself dont make friends and everything will go smoothly!
4.Be very aware that at least half of the complex is on some sort of drugs(mostly crack) and or drink alschol on a daily basis.
Again no one will bother you as long as you keep to your self and dont take any ****!
All in all this place was an ok place to live for as long as I have.
At market value though it would NEVER EVER be rented. appliances are out dated and the minimum of qaulity supplies are used.
I keep my house in very clean conditions and pretty much repair anything minor.
I have noticed that other tenants who complain a lot about their apartments and things falling apart, are also the above gossipers that I have mentioned, or live in complete filth with their OUTSIDE cats.
This does prove to be self explanatory for minor issues ie.. mold growing, leaky faucets, carpet in bad condition and lifting from the floor, kitchen and bathroom flooring lifting from water damage, damage to walls and doors.
As for the community,Ashland is extremely clicky, class verification is made by your street location and household income. If you are planning on making lifelong friends with these people make sure they are very busy and WORKING calls people otherwise they will have too much time on their hands and like the drama!

I lived at the Ashland Commons from 1998 to 2005 and still have a relative there. I can attest to the teens up the hill, that is true yes. But that's for people that have kids anyway yes not a good choice, better to live in the back. However, the maintenance is pretty nice. They had new floors added to the bathroom and kitchen (professional service) also painted the walls and added new carpeting throughout. Leaky faucet? Pa-leese. All you have to do is call the office 881-3314 duh weirdo and maintenance will come right out. As for the alcohol? Some of those people that drink the alcohol you are referring to are personal friends of mine. Whoever wrote the response to this review can just blow up for all I care. And don't even think of showing at the Corner Pub IDIOT. Just get this review out of here. This person does not deserve to live in -------ville.
