I have been a "renter" for the past 18 years, and have lived in several apartments in southern Massachusetts. None of them can hold a candle to Brook Haven Estates.
I lived at Brook Haven from May of 2006 to August of 2008. I lived in a junior one bedroom, which I highly recomend to any single people out there. There is not a better apartment for the money anywhere in Southeastern Massachusetts period.
The building is safe, well lit, well maintained, and sits on probably the best piece of land in Attleboro aside from Capron Park, which is about 3 minutes away from Brook Haven.
The area of Attleboro where Brook Haven sits is perfect. There is two different places to get on route 95 fairly close. Brook Haven is also about 10 to 15 mins from route 1, which has just about every store you can think of, but it is far enough away from the holiday traffic so it wont effect you every time you are driving to or from your apartment.
Eventhough this is a corporate owned property, Jeanie and the rest of the staff act like "real" people. You dont not get any coporate cookie cutter bs from them, and I might be mistaken, but I believe almost everyone that works for Brook Haven, lives there.
The two maintenance calls I made were addressed quickly.
1. My refrigerator died on a Wednesday evening, I had a new & bigger one, on, chilled, & ready to go when I got home from work on Thursday evening.
2. The heating element went on the dryer in my building at about 6pm on a weeknight, I called the answering service and left a message. 15 minutes later the maintenance guy was working on the dryer.
The staff is always very accomidating when it comes to any speical needs of the tenants and they have never given me any reason to complain. They also are always upgrading. Currently, I believe they are just begining to upgrade to a brand new security door and intercom system.
I feel I must address the post just below mine titled "Do not move here". Quite honestly, it makes no sense to me. The only notices that one would get living at Brook Haven was just reminders to "clear the snow off your balcony" or "speed limit reminders" etc. Just like in any apartment community, which is a good thing, because this means they are paying attention to the property they manage. Why would someone get a notice to "empty their cabinets" ...just makes no sense Mr. Anonymous.
I never used the pool at Brook Haven, I am not really into swiming period, but in my expirence, they fix stuff as soon as it is possible.
Unassigned parking is a good thing at an apartment complex. At my building, and the ones on either side of me there was never any issues. Assigned parking almost always leads to issues.
The staff also goes out of their way to make a welcoming environment. Every holiday they have parties, mixers, and events for all the tenants. In the summer there is cookouts, they do special things for the kids as well for x-mas and other holidays.
The one and only negative at Brook Haven is the Geese, which is enivitable with any well landscaped property with water. They have taken steps to reduce their presance, humanely of course, and they do a pretty good job of staying on top of any messes the Geese make. But when all is said and done, there were even times when I found myself staring out the window at them, watching the Mother Geese tend to their new babies.
I left Brook Haven because my girlfriend and I decided to live together, her kids go to school in a different town, so living in Attleboro is just not an option. I do hope to buy a home soon, but if I still find myself needing to rent an apartment again. I will absolutely be going back to Brook Haven.
Regards,
Keith Jensen
