It wasn't bad for a quick move. I had a week to find a place that had immediate room for me that wasn't too expensive. The pool has a light that is on 24/7 that shone directly into my bedroom. The kids living there were noisy and the floors squeak. The guy upstairs walked around like he was a herd of elephants. The security doors were constantly being left open by tenants. The single air conditioner in the living room only cooled down that room and it didn't do that well. Maintenance was out many times in my first month trying to get the air conditioner to actually cool the room. The apartments are somewhat old and could really use some fixing up. No matter how much I cleaned, it didn't feel clean to me--I think that had to do with the age and the numerous coats of bland-colored paint on the walls.

At night when the kids were in bed, it was fairly quiet. I once surprised a skunk when I came home in the evening because there are woods behind it and water across the street. It's only 1.5 miles from the commuter train station, but it takes 40 minutes to get into town on the train. A lot of low-income people in the town and in the apartments.

One night the fire alarm went off--I and one other tenant were the only ones who actually left the building until the firefighters arrived. Everyone else just looked out their windows.

Overall, if you don't have a lot of money, it's a good size for what you pay if you don't mind kids and paper-thin walls, floors, and ceilings.
