Nice place but beware of what they don't tell you

I have been living at Jefferson for a few months now and even though this is a nice , upscale apartment community, I would not recommend it to anyone and will probably move out or seriously consider it at the end of my current lease.Your first impression will probably be very nice but watch out for the CONS that I have mentioned .These are things that you may find out only after you move in .

PROS: Nice upscale apartments , many with patio and fireplace , fully applianced kitchen, washer and dryer in unit, ample parking, safe gated community, Nice Gym , movie library, conference room etc.

CONS:
1) There is a noise problem here. One of the reasons is that large dogs and pets are allowed , a maximum of 2 per apartment. The apartments are very poor in terms of sound insulation.Which means that if you have a noisy neighbor upstairs or someone with large/misbehaving pets , you will probably have a horrible time .

I have been having problems with noisy neighbors ever since I moved in.It is hard to get decent sleep when you keep hearing large dogs running around upstairs and almost everything happening above and around you.I have complained to the rental office multiple times and although the staff has been polite and nice, nothing has been done and this brings me to the next Gotcha,

2) The staff in the rental office is very nice and polite but they really don't act quickly on any complaints or follow up on your problems. My repeated complaints about my noisy neighbor have been met with polite sympathy and assurances of resolution but no one has bothered to ask me if the issue was resolved.I was even told that this is not the first complaint they have received about noise in the community.

3) The gated entry requires that your guests call you from the gate using the entry system to gain entry. There were repeated problems where some cell phone numbers don't work with the system (It is related to a few phone companies). Again , it took them almost a month to get this working for me .Once again , no one follows up to see if the problem is resolved. You just find out that your guests are stuck at the gate and need to walk and open the gate with your access card and then compain to the rental office where the same polite sympathy is shown .

4) For the price you pay ( upwards of $1300 for 1 bed and $1500 for 2 Bed), I believe that there should be better service and less issues.

5) There is only one Trash Compactor which often gets full and unless you are near building 3 , you may need to walk a bit to dispose trash.

CONCLUSION: Unless you are immune to noise and don't really expect or care about the service , you probably should not move in.There are other apartments that are worth checking out in the area...Cumberland Crossing , Union Place Franklin etc. When you are paying steep rents , you do deserve the best.
