Not the worst place to live, but so not worth the astronomical rent (unless of course you're on section 8) Having spent 21 years in Apple Village, I can definitely say it's gone through it's phases. When I was a child it seemed like a great place. Swings out back, a sandbox (that the neighborhood cats used as a litter box) and more kids than you'd know what to do with. But then you come to realize that the office staff for the most part was/is incompetent. Gail (the former manager) started getting better her second time around before she finally took off, but now it seems like moron after moron has taken her place. Maintenance is nonexistent: Toilet in the Master bedroom hasn't flushed properly for the last 2 years (you need to fill a gallon jug in the bathtub to flush), 6 tiles fell from the shower for more than a year before being replaced with a completely different color. Windows that you can't see out of (ever) were supposed to be replaced in 1987. Those were finally done last week (11/08). If you're on section 8, or know how to scam it like most of the residents Apple Village it may be perfect for you. But don't be an idiot and pay $2000 while your nextdoor neighbor with the beemer pays $350.

If I could afford $2000 for rent I would have a mortgage for that money and not need to live here which is all section 8 Federal Subsidied.
