Folly Hill Apartments

Great apartments - BUT, the grounds are littered with dog debris ... From: swannee Date posted: 2/12/2004 Years at this apartment: Pre-1980 - 2004   I have lived here in the Folly Hill Apartments since 1976 - 28 years - overall very pleased. My thoughts ... The positive: Great apartment - plenty of space ( about 1,000 sq. feet ), the floor plan is very well laid out. The apartment is very well appointed. The kitchen appliances are brand new and very nice. The new microwave oven is great. The quality of the appliances and fixtures - excellent. The apartments themselves are among the BEST apartments around. I would rate the apartment - very highly - an A ! I am on the 3rd floor facing the woods - a very nice view with lots of privacy. I love the apartment - a great value. The laundry room in the building is very handy - the washer & dryer machines are of very good quality. The hallways are nice and wide - and are always kept neat & clean. I would rate the interior of the building a B. The snowplowing efforts were superb - great job ! The office & maintenance staff try very hard to please and do the best that they can. Unfortunately there are tenants that are very inconsiderate and ignore the rules and regulations and who fail to respect their neighbors. I would rate the office & maintenance staff very very highly - an A ! The negatives: The grounds ... ( the maintenance crew are not responsible for the grounds - that work is outsourced to a landscapping co. ) The grounds around my building are terrible - GROSS - disgusting appearance -constantly littered with dog feces and general litter. I suspect that many of the problems are caused by some young tenants in my building who are very inconsiderate of their neighbors. The landscapping around my particular building is very shabby and very poorly maintained. The grounds around my building have consistently been very shabby as compared to the rest of the apartment community - well below average. I would rate the grounds area outside and around my particular building - very poor - an F The dogs allowed policy is very seriously flawed - as there are several owners who ignore the rules and constantly allow their dogs to crap all over the place - especially around the area of my building. The grounds around most of the apartment buildings & the community look better - much better than the immediate areas around my building. I would rate the grounds around the entire community ( with the exception of my particular building ) a C There are owners who allow their dogs to bark often - very annoying. In general: I would rate - and recommend - the apartments very highly. Again, great apartments ! I would not recommend the building that I live in - 5 Trask Court. I have some noisy young neighbors directly below me who are very inconsiderate - but, overall most of the other tenants are very nice neighbors. The dogs allowed policy in this kind of an apartment community - between the barking issues and the sanitation issues - a major negative factor. Overall, I would recommend the Folly Hill Apartment community. If the grounds around the community were better maintained, this community would easily be an award winning apartment community !
