I lived there last year for a year and it's nice apartment. However, the managing company was too greedy to negotiate anything with. For example, when I moved in the price I paid were $200 more than people moved in a couple months later. But after I paid another few months higher price, they refused to lower my rent for the next 1-year term! Instead, they increased it by $50. Well, to be fair, they did offer that if I move to another apt. I'll get $100 off for 6-months, but that's still a lot of hassle even not counting moving expense and still paying higher price than others, after paying $2400 more the first year! Wouldn't call that fair.
Indeed, when I moved out recently, I noticed a lot of people are moving out. They're having move-in special for the last couple months because of the rapid outflow of people. So you might get a good deal now. The manager named Donna was good, the other manager who seems to be the authority in negotiation was very inflexible, and not treating tenants fairly I think, although her attitude was cooperative and nice. It might not be her fault, but instead the managing company's fault.
BTW, by any standards, their price was expensive. Billerica is not a town in a good school district or close to downtown, yet it costs over $1200 for a one-bedroom (now $1250). The main advantage of it was that it's close to a few large corporations. If you work in those companies, then maybe it's good to live there, or else try find another one.
PS, it's just wild guessing, but the recommending review on this board sounds a little like rental agent's tone.
