I saw these reviews AFTER signing a lease for 1179 Boylston and I was terrified that I had gotten myself into a horrible situation. Now I've been here for two months and I have absolutly no complaints. Yes the buildings are a bit older, but they are in decent shape. I've seen MUCH worse. The ceiling in my hall is a bit crumbly but otherwise the place is decent. The floors are lovely but our kitchen floor was a mess and when we requested our stove fixed they not only got us a new stove, they also replaced the whole kitchen floor!! They have been prompt about repairs and although the elevator does often break (it's ancient!) it is usually up and working in a few days. For the area I'm in, I'm paying a decent price for a decent place that is bigger than most stuff for the same price here. I haven't had many issues with noise other than Berklee kids practicing but they are quite considerate in terms of not playing after 10pm. I have not seen a single roach, ant, mouse, rat, etc. Yes, the building is a bit crumbly but it has charm I think!
