Poor and unethical management.

I wish I knew my rights better when I was renting an apartment from this company. They were terrible at maintaining the building. When there was a pipe burst in the building, they ignored my request to fix the damage in the apartment and instead withheld my deposit when I left and accused me of leaving the apartment in poor condition. They also changed my locks several times without my permission because the realtor was showing the apartment to potential new renter and didn't have the right keys, so the broker CHANGED my lock at the door without informing me. When I came home, I was locked out of my own apartment for hours, waiting for the locksmith to break open my door.

A burst pipe is an act of God-tenants often turn the heat off when they go on vacation thus causing the burst pipes. Management cannot be held responsible for such incidents. Regardless, we responded to these accidents in a professional and timely manner. Locks are never changed with prior tenant notification. Never. Locks are only changed if a security issue arrises. Tenants are provided a set of new keys before the work begins. Also they are asked to hold onto the old keys until they have confirmed that the new set works. |
