Boston Realty Works took over management of the building at 211 Park Drive shortly after I had signed the lease. They were rude and inconsiderate from the start. They would enter the apartments without notice on a regular basis. When one would complain about it they would post back dated memos after the fact. They did not pay the common electric bill on several occasions leading to common area power being shut off (which is great when they cover all with windows with newspaper for painting so there is no light, a very unsafe situation that was not rectified for several days). They did not provide adequate garbage pickup which led to tickets and fines for residents and the building on a regular basis. They cut my phone line on 3 occasions and would deny culpability regularly. To add insult to injury shortly after they took over management the new rents were announced, a $400 increase, and when I did not renew they started showing the apartment 8 months before my scheduled move out. The BRW agents were the most inconsiderate during this time and would show up without calling and would claim to have called when they didn't. They refused to return the key deposit when keys were turned in (did I mention I am still waiting for that key deposit). NEVER rent an apartment managed by this company.

| Upon taking over management of this property - BRW renovated the entire building. This includes all of the common areas, new kitchens and baths, and a brand new roof deck. A new vestibule, front door and mailboxes were also added. The lighting indoor and out was upgraded along with brand new landscaping. This vastly improved the quality of life in the building is a sea of Boston Properties which have gone untouched since the 1970's. We regret that the tenant was unhappy with the landlord's decision to raise the rent to the current market value. And we are pleased with the improvement this renovated property has brought to the otherwise neglected neighborhood. | |

I am not the OP. I lived in 211 Park Drive from 2007-2008. I did not have a new kitchen or bathroom. I would estimate that the kitchen had last been renovated in the 80's, and the bathroom in the 60's. As for the front door, it was broken for quite some time, causing a lot of consternation.

I am the OP. While it is true BRW renovated some of the building in 2007, they did not renovate all of the units. I know because I lived through it (with the lack of electricity, phone service being cut, heat problems, horrid construction dust, etc.). The unit I had lived in was never renovated (the pictures they use to advertise it are from when I was living in the unit--funny to see your old stuff when looking for an apartment). The current asking rent is not at all competitive with area apartments they only get away with it as they rent what is legally a one-bedroom as a two-bedroom (putting in small writing that it is a split) to unsuspecting students. On the bright side, I did finally get my key deposit back months after the fact and I now know to never rent from BRW.
