I have been living in a Copley apartment since June 2008 and have had no significant problems. I read a lot of these reviews and my guess is that most of the complainers are not at all familiar with living in an old city like Boston. I have rented in Boston for over 6 years in a few different areas and for an "urban" close to downtown location my apartment is great. Yes the heat can be an issue, but you can turn off the radiator and open a window and best part is you don't pay for it. I have not had a rodent or bug problem here, but I have before in the Back Bay (way more expensive too), you see them running around the streets at night anywhere in the city. My apartment is great, it's sunny and pretty big for the location and the rent is competative. I like the Fenway neigborhood because it is close to everything but still has a quiet residential feel, especially being next to a park. I park on the street and don't usually have a problem. So far the managment has been attentive and it's great having clean shoveled sidewalks in the winter. Those people who are complaining probably don't understand that they are renting apartments in old buildings in an old city (one of the most expensive cities even) and they would probably say the same of any apartment (short of a luxury high rise) in Boston.

I was a rental agent in Boston for years. l lived in one of their buildings and even taking into consideration all of the things you've mentioned, I would still expect better service and a better living situation than I had at Copley. They had a serious issue with theft and didn't seem to care. I called them to report a breakin to a neighbor's apartment (as the doorlock was literally broken out of the door and his door just remained open) and they didn't come for hours until after my neighbor came home and called the police. This is never okay in any city!
