Elevators are slow, rental office is arrogant

My biggest complaint of a list of many: The rental office is arrogant and needs to educate themselves in basic principals of business. By 2003, long-time tenants found themselves paying significantly more than new tenants-although new tenants had newly-renovated apartments and older tenants were placed on a long waiting list to have a renovation. The management office stonewalls loyal tenants who have been there for a long time, refusing to negotiate. The elevator situation is ridiculous. Be prepared to give yourself 10 minutes to get out of the building during busy times of the day-more if you plan to call down to the garage for your car. The front-desk staff was outsourced several years ago. Many of them are nosy and talk to other tenants about each others' business, line of work etc. The apartments get really hot around April/May, especially those with Western exposure. Be prepared for a major fight with management to switch over to a/c around this time because you are baking in your apartment. The neighborhood was pretty sketchy at night, often with loud shouting from drunken bar-goers. To echo previous reviewers-the rental office can benefit from a change in leadership to someone with a little more business acumen.
