I rented an apartment on the second floor about 10 months ago. It is definetely overpriced but quite nice. It has a small patio at the back but the view is ridiculous - the back side of a large building - a spray-painted wall, less than 20-feet away. To make things worse, the patio is located just above the garbage room (which is outdoors and open) with all the consequences this might have (smell, rats, health implications etc)

Nevertheless, the biggest drawback of this apt complex is the lack of any sound insulation whatsoever. I can hear absolutely everything though the walls and the ceiling (walking, talking etc). This has caused me many problems since i have to avoid any sort of activity that involves the slightest noise (yes, watching tv with the volume set to a decent level is one of them).

So, my advise to future tenants is to restrict your activities in the apartment to ... breathing at most! In other words, you should consider this apartment the equivalent of a hotel room; go there and just sleep.
