It works for me too, but it's expensive.

Wow, if I read the reviews on the Greenhouse I would definitely not have chosen to live here. Luckily, I didn't read them. I've been here for over a year and a half and I think it's pretty good. Yeah there are downsides, namely the price. It's really quite expensive and I would think that I would get a more modern apartment for the $2025 that I pay. However I shopped around in the neighborhood and the other places I saw for $1600 - $1900 were either *really disgusting* or really far from the T.
The upsides -- the 24 hour concierge, underground parking, and the LOCATION most of all. Everything is so close, and nothing really beats that convenience. The Pru is right there. If I want to go to the bars and restaurants on Boylston, I'm within stumbling distance.
I agree there are lots of international students, but my floor at least, is not noisy and I have no problems with the neighbors. There is a new manager now who seems to be making really great changes, with less tolerance for noise, an added ATM in the lobby, I heard new washing machines are being put in with cards, the gym is renovated, there are new plants and couches in the common area. The air conditioning is also built in.
Right now, the valet parking guys on the weekdays are great - friendly and very prompt. The weekend guys on the other hand sometimes don't answer the phone, and don't really speak English. I don't really care, as long as the weekday guys are good. Having underground parking is GREAT though, especially in this neighborhood so I don't have go around searching for parking or clearing the snow off my car. It's $240 a month.
Overall I think it's a great place to live. If they increase the rent though, I think that would be the breaking point.
