New well insulated and sound quieting full length windows are excellent! Some great views as well. 24 hour concierge provides security, service and conversation. Electric service (approx. $24 a month) is the only separate charge.
Kenmore Square has been revitalized the past 4 years and is vibrant. Residents are quiet and in building laundry is convenient. Although no parking came with unit, have always been able to rent monthly underground parking from other residents/owners at $180 - $200 month.
This is a cooperative building so some Bostonians do not know the value of this arrangement over the usual condo. Since owners own shares in the entire building there is a shared concern in maintaining the value. Also units tend to be larger. Undergrad students cannot be primary residents.
There was no comparison 4 years ago when we found this unit. Most condos were small (300 or so sq ft) and those in the same price range were first floor or basement, dark, damp, etc. Kenmore Towers is bright with full unit windows and newly painted hallways. Compare for yourself.
