Horrible! Avoid!

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I lived on Park Drive, in an apartment managed by Forest Properties - the same that own Parkside. It was quite easily the most hellish year of my life. They're awful! First, the basement had a serious roach problem. Gotta love stepping over them to get to the stairs. The radiator would also spray boiling hot water all over my room and when I asked them to fix it, they never did.
The most horrible thing they did to me, was that my heat 'broke' in the middle of January - for five days. I called them every hour to try and get their so-called 'emergency services' to fix it. The temperature inside my apartment was 23 degrees. 23! I had to stay in a hotel because it was too cold to deal with. They kept claiming that a maintenance person was in the building and 'working on it' - but there was no one there. It took them five days to fix it. "It's a holiday weekend" they claimed.
They were renovating the building and were clearly waiting with baited breath for me to move out. They put a gigantic hole in my bathroom ceiling one day, and left dirt, dust and grime all over my bathroom. They never patched up the hole, either - so every time my upstairs neighbors moved - it rained more drywall and who knows what else onto me.
One day I come home from school and I find my apartment door wide open. I'm panicking thinking that someone broke in. I have a huge hole in my kitchen wall, all of my dishes are in my tub (I have no idea why to this day), half my belongings were rearranged and I found my cat cowering under my futon. So I'm trying to figure out what kind of OCD schizophrenic burglar broke in - when I call the management office. They 'forgot' to leave a note that they were into my apartment, and when I told them they left my door wide open, they denied it until I cornered them on it and then they said, and I quote: "Well nothing was stolen, so it doesn't matter."
And to boot, they had the audacity to try and deny me my deposit check because the apartment was a 'mess' when I left it. I reminded them the holes in the walls were made by them, and lest they want to face legal action they would give me my deposit. I got the check a week later.
Avoid these people - the management is condescending and useless. Their emergency services are a joke. Their apartments are overpriced and infested.
