My experience living at 580 Commonwealth Avenue was all I could have hoped for. My graduate school experience was great because of this building. It is very safe and centrally located. However, it is important to know that only full-time BU graduate students may reside here. It is right in front of a T stop, and there is a Shaws about 7 minutes via T from this building. The studio (and a few 1 bedroom apartments are beautiful. They include an electric range/microwave on top, big refrigorator, air conditioning, shower with great water pressure and have lots of light. Make sure you bring a lamp or two for evening lighting, although there is an overhead light in the kitchen and a light above the garbage disposal. During the day, plenty of light shines through the window (or 2 if you're lucky.) There are a few assigned parking spots for a lot per month, so I think it is better to take the T if you live here, but that is very easy to do. These apartments are quite pricy, but well worth it.
