I spoke with someone that previously worked in the leasing office and she said that the rape involved an ex-girlfriend and a couple of drug addicts-nice neighbors huh! The management responded by cutting back security and telling tenants to call the police if they saw something-a very weak response and management added security after enough people complained.
I agree with the comments about leasing to college students, I was told that they did not but that is a big fat lie. The apt. next to mine was filled with teenagers whose parents had rented the place for them. Needless to say there were parties every weekend until they finally got kicked out after 2 months.
Maintenance is quick to react but probably from all the practice they get trying to keep this shoddily made place together.
Theft is also an issue, I have had mail stolen and my neighbor had a bike stolen.
They will ream you if you try to go month to month or sign less than a year, market rate plus $300 was what I was qouted, 2 months rent if you leave early and $600 if you want to switch apartments.
The security booth was demolished 6 months ago and they still haven't repaired it yet, security just sits in their cars letting anyone in.
Another complaint is that some people park cars in front of other apartments and use them for storage-one car in front of my place has never moved, is filled with boxes and won't even start.
If you like early 70s architecture and many nuisances, this is the place for you.
