Students have to live somewhere. Unfortunately, if you are a working professional the staff will lie right to your face and tell you they don't have many students to get you to rent there, then deny making this claim later. Totally misled both myself and other working residents. You like loud BC kids' Garbage lobbed from parties onto your balcony' Washers and dryers that don't work (at $3.35 per load)' Random non-residents freely wandering in past the "security'" Half-empty 40oz bottles in the slightly vandalized elevator that takes 15 minutes to show up' Ugly, needless renovations that only jack the rent up to even more ludicrous heights' Then this is the place for you. And all this can be yours for only $2000 a month with parking. Disgraceful.

To echo your complaints, this is dorm living at its worst. Nightly noise from rich, spoiled, degenerate BC students will make sleep a thing of the past. The elevators are filled with garbage from their nightly parties, and they leave partially eaten pizza in the hallway. The students are incredibly rude (they won't even respond to your "good morning" when you ride with them on the elevator!) and if you are over 30 you will absolutely HATE living here.
If you dare to sit on your balcony, you will be overcome by cigarette smoke, marijuana smoke, flying beer bottles and constant noise.
The only allow cats, and will charge you "pet rent" of $35.00/month for your pet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Other legal but shady charges is the monthly $10.00 garbage disposal fee they tack onto your rent.
Each floor has two washing machines and two dryers which are VERY expensive, and sadly, the inconsiderate BC students leave their laundry in the washer and/or dryer even though they know you are waiting making laundry a chore that will unnecessarily take HOURS. The students leave their garbage on the laundry floor, and spill detergent all over the washers. It makes you want to wear rubber gloves just to open the washer door.
The management is snide and dishonest. What they don't tell you when you move in is that you will have to pay for your electricity, BUT .. EVERYTHING is on electric here - your stove (which is AWFUL because it doesn't cook properly), your A/C, your HEAT .. everything. The apartments are very hot, so you will wind up paying a small fortune in monthly rent. Additionally, they will bill you for electricity THEY use prior to your move-in date and apparently use LOTS of it and then threaten you with payment. Even the electric company is shocked by their dishonest practice.
The closet space is insufficient and each apartment comes with beige carpeting that retains dust and dirt despite constant care. If you have allergies, this is not the place for you. If the student's smoke that constantly drifts in to your apartment, the dust that accumulates at an astonishing rate will.
They advertise the building as being right on the T - which it is - but it is the Boston College (B)linen- loaded with students and the slowest of all the subway lines. There are two other lines, but they are a 10 minute walk down the hill, which is NOT fun to walk up and down in inclement weather or after a day's work. The area is completely loaded with students and anyone over 30 will be looking for a new place to live in a flash. There is nothing in the area. The few local shops cater to the college crowd, (even the 7-11 proudly displays E-Z Wider in the front window) so you won't find a decent take out place.
I could go on and on with MANY other complaints, but in short, I would STRONGLY urge anyone to rethink a move to Archstone. The management is dishonest and pretty useless when it comes to controlling reprobate rich kids and the apartments are nothing to write home about. Living here is like doing prison time in Brighton.
