I have lived in the Regency Building for more than 5 years. I have looked around at other buildings in the area, and have yet to find one that is more of a "fit" for me.
The building is clean and well maintained. The maintenance staff is prompt when called to fix any kind of problem (usually the same day). The office staff and building employees are nice and very helpful.
If you have a car,on street parking can be difficult to find. However, the building does have parking available - the cost seems high, but it is going rate for this area and it beats parking tickets. You can also get an Allson/Brighton resident parking pass - but those spaces are hardly ever vacant.
I read the last review that mentioned a problem with mice in the building. Speaking for myself, I never saw even one mouse in my apartment. I do keep my house very clean and think if other tenants did the same they may not have had this problem.
I want to mention that the management did make us all aware of the complaints they were getting about mice, and the building was exterminated a couple of months back. I'm fairly certain that took care of the mice.
The location is convenient for me, I usually leave my car at home and catch the trolly to work - I'm there in under a half hour.
As far as noise, if your apartment faces Commonwealth Ave., it can be a little loud, but that should be expected. Fortunately the building was solidly constructed, so its really not so bad.
For this area, I think the rent is reasonable. As I mentioned, I've looked around and come to the conclusion that I would have to move to a dump to save a couple hundred dollars a month. I say "no way" to that, Id rather stay here where the building and apartments are nice.
Overall, I really do like living here and plan on living here for years to come.
