I lived at 118-130 Babcock St. for the past 18 months. Overall, the apartement itself is nice (we did some cuastom painting, but only because the previous owners had left holes and spackle all over the wall, and management did not feel like painting over their custom paint job with white paint.)
After we moved in we asked for the hardwood floors to be refinished and for new screens to be put in. Both were done, but it took 2 weeks of calling every day for them to come over and finish the job. It took them three months to install the screens.
Overall the apartment had great character, and never leaked or had bug problems. Applicances were old but worked.
The management company was clueless, however. The one time I had an emergency (broken toilet) they did fix it the nex day. Good luck getting any preventative or non emergency work done. It wont happen, unless you bug them daily. The only thing that they know for sure is the balance on your account - and they know that to the penny. However, they were always honest in that regard.
The apartments here were nice and large, and had character. If you dont have any major problems with maintence, then the management shouldn't give you problems. Otherwise, have fun dealing with the slowest maintence on the planet.
