From the beginning this situation played like a bad article about atrocious housing. I used a broker to find a place within my price range and she told me everything I wanted to hear-- overall great place to live. I moved in and thats where it all began. The entire place is run down from head to toe. You dont see it when you are going on tour but once you move in, it changes. There are ROACHES and MICE. I am a clean person and no matter how vigilant I am and no matter how much they spray, they always come back. I call the Board of Health on them every winter because they never turn on the heat unless they Board tells them too. They have raised the rent 2 times now and they offer only month to month leases to make sure you cannot fight it. Highland St is one of the most dangerous streets in Brockton and it is parallel with THE most dangerous street, Green St. I have lived here for 2 years and I have been sick of it since the first month. Why did I stay' I have no other choice... RIGHT NOW, I turned around and my daughter is using her fishing pole to fish for "bugs" aka roaches because she is so used to them. It breaks my heart. Seriously, do not move here.
