Gone for good!

I also lived at the Barclay for a few years and I have to agree with the first reviewer. Personnaly the second review sounds like a poor selling pitch from management. The construction work for the past 8 months has been horrible on every single resident even the concierge were complaining wearing earplugs most of the time. I'm sorry no one is okay with 4 months of continuous sledgehammer in the garage and after that hearing construction workers yelling in the hallways at 7:30 in the morning!
For a period of time (about a month) the cleaning staff were told to stop all work because of the construction work being done. Thankfully a lot of residents complained and the cleaning started again. The worst of all was a month ago, when my roomate and I were asked to pay an additional $400 a month because of all the improvement made to the building! That was I nice thank you note from management after living 8 months of hell. To my surprise after shopping around for a new place to live, there is plenty nicer and more affordable places than the barclay house.
On the other hand appartments are large and very well situated. When all the work is done, the barclay house will be a nice place to live in.
My advice is to stay away from the barclay house, although renovated I wouldn't trust anything the management advertises. There are too many nice places to move into to be trapped in the Barcaly house for an extented period of time.
Good luck if you do decide to move in the barclay house!!!
