I have lived in the Barclay House for a year and a half, and it gets worse here every day.
The main problem with the building is the staff. Things break, and they do not fix them. They let things fall into a state of complete disrepair. One of my showers literally had to collapse before they would fix it, and even then it took weeks.
Most recently, I was having a problem with my heat. The heat in the building does not regulate itself properly and the thermostats in the unit are from at least the 1970's. After numerous complaints (for over a year) the building did nothing. Finally, my husband went to Home Depot and installed a new thermostat that functioned perfectly and is more energy efficient.
The Barclay House performs periodic "inspections" where they say they are coming in to assess the condition of your apartment. In actuality, they are coming in to snoop. During a routine "inspection" they removed my new thermostat and replaced it with an old unit (that also does not function properly. My lights now flicker in the bedroom). The Management will not return it to me because it is an "illegal" unit. Essentially, they entered the unit under false pretenses and stole what was not theirs.
Is this the type of environment where you want to live' I think not. A rooftop pool is not worth your privacy.
