The new management only cares about making money. In one year, they hiked the rent a ridiculous amount in order to fund "needed improvements" such as adding awnings to the doorways and flowers in the yard, rather than fixing the numerous broken windows, peeling paint, and appliances in the currently occupied apartments, replacing the ancient heating system, and stopping the water leaks in the basement. (The building reeked of mold for months after last year?s flood.)

They do renovations early in the morning and late at night on the weekdays, as well as on the weekends and holidays without any concern or consideration for the privacy of the tenants. There is absolutely no insulation between the floors, so you hear every move the workers or neighbors make. The building is full of asbestos and lead. (The inspectors must not be doing their jobs.) Parking spaces are extravagantly expensive, even by Brookline standards, and the parking lot is barely plowed in the winter. (You?re expected to move your vehicle during a snowstorm -even though there is not onstreet parking in Brookline during a storm- so the plow can shove all the snow into your space because they can?t figure out how to maintain the lot properly.) They frequently allow maintenance workers to park in tenant spaces during the day, and do nothing if you complain about it. (Their towing policy is a joke.)

If you dare to make a complaint about anything, the property manager is rude and uncaring. We rented our apartment because it used to be reasonably priced. After many happy years with the former management, we cannot wait for the last day of our lease so we can move and never deal with the current management again.
