Avoid! But at least there's a nice gym.

I found the bright relatively large apartment appealing right away, but it was a mistake to be lured by the large windows and supposed amenities. First of all, the concierge service is non-existent. The lease includes a clause about how they are not responsible for anything ie packages that comes through the concierge. Thus, if they ruin or lose something, they won't even apologize. I received a perishable package, clearly marked as such, and they just left a note in my mailbox that evening, leaving it to perish overnight. I called to complain and the psychotic manager Lee (a whole other story) said that I signed the lease and that the concierge service is just a courtesy, anyway (ie I am not paying for it). He had stressed that as a selling point, and the place is expensive, so I did feel I was paying for it. In any case, there's no need to be so nasty.
The place is expensive. $200 for parking, supposedly heated, with constant 3 inch puddles of water that stay there for months and get disgusting.
The walls are thin. You can hear everything on all sides, from within the building and without. My neighbor and I woke up together every morning to his alarm (which I don't think was unusually loud). The garbage trucks that empty dumpsters in the back of other buildings will wake you up several times a week.
Safety is not good, because the front doors are propped open most of the time and the garage door is open for move-in season, as well as often during the day other times. I was surprised to find out the concierge is actually the one who props open the front doors, making the intercom system unnecessary and ineffective. I suppose the concierge is supposed to be watching who enters the building, but he's either reading, "back in fifteen minutes", or doing manual labor like shoveling snow or garden work in back. Also, the concierge has his back to the security cameras, so if something happens, at least they'll have a tape of it. If you're a very nervous person about security, don't live here. I actually heard Lee the manager tell an old lady who said she was worried that the front doors were not closed that if someone wants to get in the building, they will, so there's nothing he can do. Nice and so comforting.
Lee is usually horrible, mean, and extremely rude. Rarely, he will be efficient and ultra-friendly (usually when he's showing around a prospective tenant). You never know what you're going to get with him, but just don't ask him for anything or he will unleash.
The gym is good, and not too crowded, usually. Just don't look too closely at the floor, they didn't vaccuum it the whole time I lived there- which doesn't matter unless you want to stretch on the floor.
