DO YOU WANT TO HEAR IT EVERYTIME YOUR NEIGHBORS HAVE SEX'''

When you first enter Archstone for a tour you will think it's a beautiful place to live. Yes the apartments are spacious and those walk-in closets are great but don't get ahead of yourself because there are some things you should know that those smiley fake people at the rental office won't tell you.
-LET'S START WITH A WINTER AT ARCHSTONE. I hope you're prepared for a terrible heat bill because of course they forgot to mention that half of your heat was going to go out your drafty windows. Oh and by the way the central air vents in the back 2 bedrooms don't really work too well in the winter or summer. Just a slight trickle of air comes out of those but don't bother complaining to the main office because they already know and in fact they will tell you that this is how it's supposed to be because this is how "forced air" works. So you better just buy an electric blanket for yourself and your children and continue to pay for heat that's going to waste.

Now comes the first snow storm...I hope you didn't have any place to go because PLOWING IS A JOKE. You and your neighbors will be the ones who end up shoveling the common walkways. So now you come inside from shoveling and you want to take your wet slushy boots off and typically you would leave them right outside your door on top of a welcome mat...OH NO not at Archstone. There are no welcome mats allowed in the hallways at Archstone because they like to keep their hallways looking uniform so if you leave anything outside your door they will throw it away on you. Of course they pick and choose which tenants/buildings they enforce this rule on. Same as their "nothing but patio furniture allowed on balcony" rule. Apparently all these weird little rules are in the lease so READ BEFORE YOU SIGN.
-SO NOW IT'S SUMMER AT ARCHSTONE and you want to take a swim so you go up to the pool because they're supposed to be open at 10, well SURPRISE it's closed. They won't be opening til 12 because they don't have a lifegaurd. They will make their own schedule all summer so be ready. Also keep in mind that they take great care of the landscaping all around the rental office because that's what people see when they come in but as you go farther down into the complex the grass is brown and there's no flowers so if you happen to get a unit down there you're out of luck.
Someone in another post mentioned that they felt safe because we have buzzers on the front door well it's a false sense of security because in my building people buzz people in without knowing who it is and most of the time the front door is left open anyways.
-There's never enough parking spaces
-If you have an after hours maintenance emergency(lock out) they will take 3 hours to get there and still have the audacity to charge you $50 for the lock out even though you've been waiting in the cold for hours.
-THE BIGGEST ISSUE...PAPER THIN FLOORS/CEILINGS. You can hear everything your upstairs neighbor does and your downstairs neighbor can hear everything you do. I mean everything. Sex, snoring, talking, walking, etc. when they shower or flush a toilet it sounds like it's happening in your apt. These apts were made very cheap and if you move in here you will soon find out.
