The Worst Place to Live

The management is crooked. They lie constantly, they will tell you one thing and do another. I presented them with a piece of paper to claim something offered by them and they grabbed it and ripped it up and said it was old and no longer being offered (which was not true, as there was no expiration date or any notice stating it was not effective anymore). If you like to be surrounded by drug dealers and watch deals being made right in front of the bus stop while you are waiting for your child, than this is certainly the place for you. These are overpriced projects. The police are constantly in and out of the complex. The management will do nothing to help you when there is an issue or a problem with a disruptive neighbor. The pool is closed most of the time and you will be sure to find at least once every summer while living there feces in the pool. The head manager has a passive-aggressive personality and makes you feel inferior always. The mosquitoes are terrible in the summer and you cannot even go outside if you live near the conservation land and they will do nothing about this. You and your family are at high risk for West Nile and other diseases. This is not a peaceful place to live. You can be sure to have your vehicle damaged. They will raise your rent ridiculous amounts every year. They will charge you for everything and anything they possibly can. You have to fight to get your security deposit back when you leave. Moldy, dirty air, cold drafty windows (heat goes right out the windows). If you think you are just paying for your own electricity, you are not. You are paying for the electricity outside of your apartment also. Windows leak every winter, then they want you to pay for the carpet from the water damage. The place is infested with insects. Management is down right nasty and rude. The new management where I live now is wonderful and exceeds by far the professionalism of the management at Arboretum and the environment is a breath of fresh air compared to what I endured living at the Arboretum. My new management treats me like a human being. The Arboretum cares more about their landscaping appearance than they do the safety and well being of their tenants. They change the landscaping every season or more and dump a pretty penny into flowers, why not pay for security to keep the tenants safe instead of flowers'''' It is truly the worst place to live. I'd rather live in Dorchester or Roxbury than the Arboretum at Burlington.
