Very poor management

We have stayed in these apartments for 3 years. The management here is very poor compared to the ones in other apartments that we have stayed.
The crux of the problem is that Beacon Village is a co-operative apartments. So there are some apartments managed by the rental company and others by individual owners. If you have any issue with the individually owned apartment residents then you have to first complain to the rental company. They in turn will bring up the issue in board meetings. The board meetings are open only to owners and hence you don't have direct access to them.
We too have smoking problem in our building. Smoking by one resident in the building is affecting everybody else which includes small children! Repeated complains to the management have gone in vain. The matter has been supposedly discussed in board meetings several times but no action has been taken. The problem is the same that the smoking resident is renting from an individual owner and not from the rental company.
Also the upkeep of the apartment complex is handled by the rental company as well a separate maintenance crew. So you never know who is supposed to clean and maintain what. Both guard their turf well and blame the other for job not done!
In short, pay such high rent somewhere else and get a better deal.
