"DOG FRIENDLY"

To date the experience has been positive with the exception of the "dog friendly" claims. Renters seem unable to locate the cans to discard dog waste-so most of the problem is with them. However, when suggestions were brought to the management, they became defensive and would not even consider (1) moving the waste cans to easily accessible to the owners as all winter we were jumping over snow banks to get to them; (2) adding more waste cans around all the apartments; and (3) placing "no dog" signs in the courtyard where the children play; and (4) emptying the cans more often. Instead a newletter went out with threats of additional fees, asking other renters to report dog owners who do not obey the rules, and lastly that they will expell the dogs...if they go we go! So, not a good business idea to threaten the majority of your renters. It would be nice to have a place where dogs could be off leash (there is plenty of room) and a more supportive, helpful management.

First, the dog areas seem to be strategically placed out of the way so the pee and such isn't near the general property. I would be very unhappy if it were any closer to where I park and walk. Also why would I want to see trash cans all over the place, the grounds here are great and I think that would ruin the look. Also about the dogs being allowed off a leash as far as I know there is a leash law against that. I have a young child and I would not be ok with dogs running around freely. I just wanted to respond to this with another point of view.

I live here and have a dog. I always abide by the poop laws, but sometimes my dog can't wait to get to a dog area to pee, especially in the morning! She is 13yrs old and she is so good to wait until morning to void. I've been turned in for her peeing outside the dog area. I would never think to leave a poop behind (no pun intended) but some months we get a manifesto about dog rules and threatened with higher dog rent etc. I just hate being dictated to because of a few people that are too lazy to pick up after their own dogs.
