Yes, you get luke-warm water free with your higher-than-average rent! Ok, you might have a 5% chance of getting actual hot water, but even then it's not 'steaming hot'. It really makes the dishwasher(which does not heat the water) and a hot-wash in the laundry a complete waste of electricity. You might as well wash everything by hand. I don't believe this is a capacity issue...rather it is a rationing issue. For example, why is there no hot water at 3am' But you might get some at a 'peak' time...say 8:30pm. Of course lots of people have complained and management does nothing. I guess years ago there was no problem, but 'new boilers' were introduced and the problems started. Oh well, just be sure to test the hot water if you are seeing one of these units!

Another con would be the quality of construction. If you have smelly neighbors (smoke, cooking, etc) the smells will find their way into your apt... Even thru your dryer vent into your dryer and out the dryer door!!
Although there is central air, if you have the heat or AC on it will suck your neighbors air into your own apt and cause some unpleasant smells! This can be incredibly annoying. There's just no excuse for this other than poor construction.

Also, some genius designed the intake vent in the apt to let all the cold air in during the winter. It's as if you had an open window letting in cold air 24/7. Not energy efficient at all!

A pro: The apts. are very soundproof from side to side... however, I would suggest getting a top floor due to the creaky floorboards that anyone under you will be hear. This seems to be a common problem with most apts. and construction quality comes into play again. These are the highest priced apts. anywhere in the area and does not have the construction quality you would expect for the high rent.

A major plus here is the location. It really is close to everything you could want--grocery stores, mall, restaurants, MBTA, Boston, etc... And I feel very safe here--everything is well lit and the police/fire station is only 1/4 mile down the road! Also, they are very good about plowing and shoveling during snow storms.

Overall, this an OK place for -temporary- residence. The high rent will probably prevent you from staying long-term anyway. It will seem great at first, but I think things will slowly get to you. When I was here I noticed a pretty high turnover rate.

I really can't "recommend" because the rent here was too high for the quality you are getting. You might as well go into Boston and get a place for a little more money.
