a bit pricey, but not a bad place

My experience here was actually fairly pleasant. As an MIT student, I found the location incredibly convenient. I got a great deal on a 2-bedroom apartment ($200 a month off the rent, 2 months free rent, and 1 free parking spot) because it was on the 2nd floor and didn't face the river (it was actually right next to the loading dock, which made for quite a lot of noise, but again, was worth it for the deal I got). The only problems I had were:

1. Cold air leaking in through cracks around the windows in the winter
2. My bedroom didn't receive heat through it's heating duct very well, while my roommate's got too hot when the heat was on.
3. There is a lot of noise from the traffic on Memorial Drive. Again, unavoidable due to the location.
4. Had a bit of a problem moving out, due to someone else leaving their truck in the loading area, and got yelled at by the concierge for parking a van in other peoples' spots (even though they weren't there)

Pros:
1. Yes, you could smell what other people were cooking when you were in the hallways, but while you were in your own apartment, I almost forgot I was in an apartment building (ie, I couldn't hear or smell my neighbors).
2. Never had a problem getting a washer/dryer in the laundry room.
3. The few times I requested maintenance on the apartment (caulking around the windows, a replacement light fixture in the kitchen because the first one randomly fell and smashed), they were prompt (came by the next day) and efficient.
4. Less than a 5 minute walk from the Kendall T stop, which was a huge convenience
5. Never had a problem with any of the management people (Shannon or Tom) whenever I had a question. I found them very friendly and helpful.

Overall, my time spent there was good, though I wouldn't move back there because overall I think the rent is a bit too high, and the price of parking is a bit ridiculous.
