The location was ideal. close to T and bus stop. and close to everything in Central square.

For the same reason, it is also bad.

Well, I find that is the animation of the city, but the room layout of my 1br apartment was horrible, putting the bedroom to the corner of mass ave and pearl st and could not sleep for more than 4-5 hours.

The majority of the tenants are MIT and Harvard Students back then. And, still some of us had a bad habit to steal mails/parcels in the entrance area. I wished the building had another mail room for us to sign and retrieve the parcels. No on-site management.

This used to be a low-income housing for the elderly before its renovation in 2000, and, $1500 for one bedroom apt was quite steep(not any more) and, in the basement, the laundry room and other unfinished area show the sign of the old conditions. it is kind of scary down in the basement with cold CHI sensed sometimes during the day. very gloomy.

Now, the manager, Steve, is a real PIA. He always made everything sounds difficult and make us feel bad. He turned all the tenants who would need help or attention against him and some moved out because of him. The laundry room was flooded with the big storm one night and the machine refluxed the filthy sewage water back into the already put clothes. The manager did not come to look and resolve the matter for another week with no apology. Nobody else to call but the health inspector of Cambridge City, who saw the poor maintenance and wrote a couple of letters for us, the tenants, back then. He hated dealing with this manager over the years and knew their poor management with tenants in other buildings as well.

The managing office (Jewish Owner) runs 50 buildings and houses in and around Cambridge and Steve, the manager, was simply not coping with the job he was expected to do. Very uptight and anti-social character. If you are fresh, young, new in town, you would find him quite bullying. And, there was no other manager available to complain about this person, so, that makes it a bad management company.

The exterior, hmm, the cheap sprayed plywood covered the real charm of the brick details underneath it. You can only find its old charming facade details in old Cambridge history books. That is another shame. very cheap and tasteless looking now. And, cheapest home depot finish interiors. the 1 br I had was probably just under 600sf though. That is big for an apt in my area.

the elevator is slow and cannot serve well with the tenants who are 150 ft away from it.

There is a city parking garage right behind the building. That is a plus for car owners.
