I have lived here for eight years and am pretty happy, else I wouldnt have stayed so long.
Pros:
- Great location, right across from entrance to the mass pike - Wholefood Market and Brooks pharmacy are next door along with 24 hr store at shell station across the street - 10 min. walking distance to red line - Apartments have thick walls so you cannot hear your neighbors. - Higher floors (15 and above) are well maintained - Helpful maintenance staff - Indoor parking at a reasonable (by boston standards) rate - Gorgeous river views - Responsive management, especially since Winn management took over - Quick cab ride to most places in Boston - Tennis and basketball courts nearby
Cons
- Some of the lower floors that are rent control are messy - Hard to find enough washing machines in the community laundry room, especially weekends - Road noise, though this is not a problem on the higher floors - Snow removal in the garage is sometimes delayed - Guest parking meter does not always work (guests pay $3 for overnight parking ticket) - Rodent problem sometimes
There is a large international population here but most people are easy to get along with. Not a bad place if you like the city but dont want to spend an arm and a leg on a place.
