Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
Ostensibly, this is an okay apartment building.
However, it is riddled with problems: mice, plumbing (no hot water in morning, backed up drains leaving gunge in the bath), laundry facilities broken more often than not, the stench of cigarette smoke and cooking odors permeates your unit and no matter how often you clean or air the place, it is difficult to get rid of the smell.
That is just scratching the surface. I have encountered aggressive racism (I am white)and drunkeness which is extremely unpleasant.
If you have standards and want somewhere where you can feel safe, secure and enjoy coming home DO NOT go near this place!
On the up side, it is conveniently located with nice view of the river or Cambridge (depending on which side of the building you live on) and it is next door to Whole Foods and Brooks Pharmacy.
