Nice overall, but pricey

Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004
I lived in Worthington Place from 9/03 through 7/04, as a graduate student at MIT.
My impression of the place was positive overall, with a few minor but annoying exceptions.
1. My unit's quality was in general pretty good. Central heat/air worked well, kitchen
appliances were decent (I wish we had a gas stove, however), lots of well-placed outlets. Windows were nice. There isn't much built in lighting, however, so be prepared to either buy a lot of lamps or to install track lighting. Water pressure in the bathroom could have been a little better. Apartment is very noise proof, although two or three times during the year some (pretty nasty) shouting from other units wafted through.
2. Public facilities are good in general, and breakdowns are promptly repaired. Main lobby/foyer is well done and impressive. The halls are nicely kept and *very* quiet in general. The laundry room is spacious and well lit ,with up-to-date machines and a nice community book exchange. The outside parking lot had tight spaces when I moved in, but the spaces seemed to grow to a decent size after a repaving/repainting this summer. The only exception is the weightroom, which has inadequate cardio equipment and a TV with bad radio/audio. Even this, however, is at least clean and well kept. Elevators are on the slow side.
3. My main complaint is with the office staff, as some other reviewers have noted. The staff, although very professional, are often grouchy and sometimes a bit harsh. Although this possibly stems from them trying to maintain the high facility quality of such a large place, it can make dealing with them unpleasant. The maintenance staff, however, is friendly.
In summary, I was happy overall living here, despite the large rent-dent in my stipend each month.
