Nice apartments, great location!

Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2003
I lived in Auburn Court from June 2002 - June 2003. If I weren't moving out of state, I would have stayed here.
The apartments are only a couple years old, are constructed with high quality fixtures (nice cabinets, appliances), and the location is great. Just a few blocks from Mass Ave in Central Sq (5-min walk to T), but far enough away from Mass Ave that it is quiet. I hear occasional stereo noise from one neighbor (he really cranks up the bass), but it only happens during the day so I let it go.
One reserved parking space is included, which is a huge bonus for this area where street parking is tough.
There are security cameras all around the facility, and I've never felt unsafe.
We've had a few minor maintenance issues that were all responded to within a day. Our apartment has washer/dryer inside that uses a smartcard. Price per load just went up from $1.25 to $1.50.
Rent includes heat and hot water. All the lights are energy-efficient compact fluorescent. Electric is generally $30/mo in the winter months, and up to $70 when the A/C is on. We have a two-floor townhouse, with one wall-mounted AC downstairs and one upstairs in my roommate's bedroom. There should be a third unit in the other bedroom, as it got very hot during the summer.
The only complaint is that when our lease came up for renewal they wanted to increase rent from $2100 to $2200 per month, even though rents in the area are falling. I suspect that if we were staying they would have been willing to negotiate, but I have no way of knowing for sure.
All in all, I highly recommend Auburn Court.
