worst choice I ever made.

I hate this place. Everythign in this place is nice to look at, but that's about it. Everything's thrown together in the cheapest way and the components of each unit are among the lowest quality at any standard appliance stores. I got too caught up in their flashy advertisement of this building.

The management is absolutely worthless. They lie to your face and tell you different things every single time you meet with them(even AFTER the management got replaced by a new company). I'd rather have the truth(no matter how grim it may be) than a blatant lie just to shoo me away.

Let's start with the amenities. First of all, don't let their fancy advertising fool you, their amenities are horrible and often unavailable. Here's a run down:

Internet: absolutely atrocious. WORSE speeds than my old AOL dialup account. They boast a fast T1 internet line, when in reality it's an ineffective broadband solution that I wouldn't pay $5/month for. This line is provisioned by Solantic Services who are a bunch of unhelpful techies that don't think anything is ever wrong. Conveniently, solantic is the only solution you have for internet and TV. Oh, by the way, don't be surprised if you all of a sudden get a $200 bill for internet when it's normally around $30. They must like to keep us on our toes.

Pool: again, one of those things that are nice to 'look' at. because that's all you can ever do with it. They keep lying and telling me it will open tomorrow and it never does, it probably never will. I don't even consider having a pool anymore since no one will ever be able to use it.

Parking: policy changes on this hourly, so I don't know whether it's good or bad this hour.

Packages: packages often get misplaced and sometimes even turned away. very inconsistent. I get things shipped to my work address from now on, I don't trust cambridgepark with it.

A/C-heating: our thermostat is off by about 15-20 degrees. So if you need a climate-controlled environment(say for newborns) beware.

Gym: 2 months late. state-of-the-art is stretching it. It's the same exact equipment found at YMCA's across america that you pay $1 to go to. Decent equipment, I guess, since no one really uses it. They already had one bike fail and they yell at you if your weights make a loud noise when hitting the ground, even from a few inches up(which is inevitable in my opinion). Also the tenants LOVE to bring in their own stereos and BLAST them even though they're not supposed to. I love their horrible music.

TV: tv is ok, not many complaints here, 'cept sometimes the guide channel is broken and when it does work, the correct times do not match up with the right shows. I've learned to not rely on the channel guide.

People: I haven't met all the people there, but for the most part, they are snobs. people below me love to blast music past 1am and before 8am. which is fine with me, since I'm up anyway, but as soon as I make any sort of loud noise at a reasonable time, I get yells thru the wall and people banging on the floors/ceiling/walls/whatever.

Laundry: The in-unit laundry machines are the worst you can get at any sears or bestbuy. Look for yourself. The lowest priced models at these stores are the ones you'll find in your unit. Enjoy.

Built-in furniture: The things that are made of wood were made by people who don't know what sandpaper is.

Water/faucets: There's a nasty pinkish ring of filth that forms around the drains in my faucet and shower. Probably just rust from the flowing water, nothing major. Tetnus shots are fun, anyway. There's probably not enough water pressure to do any damage anyway.

Landscaping: I think they should have the landscapers handle the management of the entire building, because it's the only thing that looks very nice and is often done in a timely manner.

broken things right now: right now, my blinds are broken and one of my closet doors keep coming off the track. There's a loud clicking noise constantly emmitting from my bathroom. the bathroom outlets trip to the off position everytime I turn off/on the lights.

I could go on and on, but bottom line is: Don't be fooled by what they say about this place. There's a reason why it's only about 30-40% full.
