There's a reason why this place is nowhere near full

It is getting better here, but it has still been a nightmare here. Pretty much every comment here (incredibly slow internet, cheap appliances, fire alarms, unhelpful management) is true, so I won't go over those in any more detail here.
One upside commonly not mentioned is that cell phone service is pretty good becuse of the location--Verizon is OK, everybody else has a tower within hundreds of feet of the apartment.
The commuter rail train runs behind the apartment, and there's a train maintenance building as well. It can get loud at night, especially if you open up your windows--they have to work on the trains during off hours. Your neighbor's subwoofer will also be a problem, in addition to the thin, uninsulated walls between rooms within your apartment.
The apartments are quite airtight--good for energy efficiency. However, odors from cooking will linger in the apartment and move between rooms unless you let fresh air flow through--annoying on humid days (and cold ones too!).
With all of the specials being offered and whatnot, be aware that your rent can rise considerably for the next year--factor in moving costs if you are looking for more than one year of housing!
I've found that other residents here are quite friendly in general. Especially when the topics of conversation are deficiencies in the building, internet service, or the management's broken promises!
