Yes, the large company that owns Church Corners does impose some quite unjustifiable yearly rent increases on an already exorbitant rate, but in other ways the situation is very nice, with pleasant staff and a great manager who cares about the community so much that she lives there. In many ways the situation seems to be improving. After about half a year, both elevators are now restored to service, and after a lot of turnover the maintenance staff has settled in, and they are more efficient in responding to service requests. The building is cleaned regularly, including the exterior windows, and parts are even repainted from time to time. Appliances aren't exactly top notch but as decent as I've seen from other rental companies. We had a dishwasher replaced that was actually inferior to the original unit. The Mac-Gray company that runs the laundry room does not have its act together. There are definitely a few strange people who live here, and the usual mix of kids who are sweet and kids who are loud and obnoxious -- most are near the ground floor. But that's life as a renter. Overall a good, though very expensive experience.

I can second most of the comments provided here, although I think that there are still lots of problems that are not getting better. My water is turned off every couple of weeks, pressure varies from really low to, just ok, and I share the same experience with both a dishwasher and refrigerator being replaced (only one was replaced with a "better" unit). Location is great, and I guess if that is your interest, then it is good. Also, the higher up floor wise, the more respectable renters from my experience, although I haven't had problems with any of the neighbors (except for a lot of marijuana smoke in the stairways/3rd floor).
