Overall it could have been a nice place to live. But the whole living experience there turned out to be weird. First, this building is located right in the heart of Central Square, i.e. the filthiest place in all of Cambridge. Trash can fly right into your face as soon as you walk out of the building. For some reason all the local wackos congregate right outside on the benches -- there s only one entrance into the building, so you have to walk by them.
Second, the rent is expensive, but the building is sturdy and well-maintained. Most of the people who live there are decent and responsible. They are mostly grad students and working professionals. However, that was not the case with some of the section 8 apartments right next to me. One of the neighbors was a woman who obviously does not have a job and keeps having children to get money from the government. She was psychologically disturbed and obnoxious. She d make weird comments to neighbors and yell at the staff occasionally. Her teenage daughter had a dirty mouth too. The whole clan still lives there, so if you re thinking of moving there watch out! Some other neighbors played REALLY loud music it was blasting through thick, sturdy walls
What was the most frustrating part of that circus is that despite multiple complaints, the manager was reluctant to do anything about the problem. He just hid his head in the sand and pretended like everything was perfect. You d think if they call themselves a luxury building, they d want to have decent residents there. Not, the case.
